Case Study: Private House

Location: Ballymore Eustace Road, Naas, Co Kildare.

The Problem:

They way the house was designed there were over 100 panes of glass in the house below 60cm, by law in order to protect children, windows at this height can shatter but the glass must not disperse this legislation is important in all crèches, play centres and Montessori schools.

The Effect:

The windows and glass are deemed to be unsafe and are in breach of the Irish planning laws, this can lead to heavy fines and an undertaking to carry out the necessary alterations.

The Solution:

Replacing glass can be very expensive, we fitted Opalux 4 mill security film, this is a clear film so it will not alter the look of the windows which is obviously important.

It has a very strong adhesive sot it ensures that if the window is broken that the glass will shatter but the glass will stay in the window but not disperse.
